Just One Word: Welcome

My Post (1) (2)

The door swings open and the guest is invited to stay for as long as he desires. He is greeted with hospitably. Because he is new to the environment, considerable preparation was made to make room for him and for his comfort. As a much-desired companion, he was greeted with delight. He was welcomed into the dwelling and given space to make himself at home.

Can you imagine allowing someone to move freely in your space without limitation? To welcome someone in such a way, requires an openness few of us are willing to give without restrictions. However, freedom of occupancy should be the case when we embrace the Holy Spirit into our hearts. We welcome him into our abode.

The person of the Holy Spirit has been given to us by the Father. According to John 14:16 Amplified Bible (AMP) which reads 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever. He comes bearing gifts. However, we must be open to receive him. He wants to be part of your life and not just restricted to one room. He wants to dwell with you in companionship. In fact, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Amplified Bible (AMP) reads19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God and that you are not your own [property]? 20 You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body.

Did you invite the Holy Spirit to dwell with you then proceed to restrict his movement? We often relegate him to a religion service otherwise refusing to listen to him as he attempts to give us direction and counsel. We limit God’s omnipresence in our lives and the power to overcome in this life when we restrict the Holy Spirit’s ability to operate in our lives (Ecclesiastes 8:12). I do not know what the dynamics with the Holy Spirit will be in eternity, but I do know his purpose in this life. He is a gift from God to empower us to live His riches and highest best in this life. He is here to be a Helper which encompasses being a Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby).

Why relegate him to a religious service when he is here to empower you to navigate through this life with wisdom only the omnipresence of God can provide. He is not pushy or condescending and delights in being your honored guest. He understands family dynamics and the root causes in all family issues. He can give you the understanding to help you parent and be a supportive spouse. Are you facing a career decision or faced with a dilemma at work? He is not only omnipresent but omniscient and willingly works to see the Father’s will done in your life. He takes up residence within you to lead and guide you in all truth and empowers you to live God’s riches and highest best. I suggest that not only do you let him come in but welcome him without limitations.
