With Your Name On It

Scripture was not given to contain Christ but to reveal him (to you and through you). John said “Verily, verily, there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. (John 21:25 KJV). ” However, we are a continuation of His legacy. Yeshua (Jesus) said, “I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12 KJV).”

In the Book of Esther, Mordecai was known throughout the land for his noble acts. The night before he was to be executed, King Xerxes could not sleep. On that night the king ordered that the book of records and memorable deeds, the chronicles, be brought, and they were read before the king. It was found written there how Mordecai had reported that Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s eunuchs who were doorkeepers, had planned to attack King Ahasuerus (Xerxes) (Esther 6:1‭-‬2 AMP.) The next day instead of killing Mordecai, the king honored him.

We often fail to grasp that as ministers of reconciliation his virtue in us is not for Sunday morning services. Our excellence of spirit should be as reputable as was Mordecai’s. We are to carry the revelatory nature of Christ with us wherever we go. His presence is to dwell with us in our homes, our churches, and our communities. Whether we are called to work in the marketplace, in our educational institutions or in our government, God’s presence should be reflected in our everyday lives.

Our conversations, our appearance, and how we conduct our affairs, should be evidence that we are representatives of the Kingdom of God. An earthly king, boss, spouse, or pastor may never notice us but God keeps a book of remembrance with our names on it. What will it reveal? When our king opens the book of remembrance will he see the greater works. Never forget that He is our rewarder (Hebrews 11:6).
